Terms and Conditions of Work

1. Installation Work:
a. All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671 wiring regulations as amended.
b. All electrical installation work will comply with applicable building regulations in force at time of works.
c. Any electrical installation certificates issued by Belgrave Electrical Services Limited will cover only those works
carried out by Belgrave Electrical Services Limited.
d. Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume existing circuits are safe and in
adequate condition. Any works required to bring these circuits up to standard will be at additional cost.
e. Unless agreed beforehand, chases to walls for cable runs etc. will be left unfilled. Plastering or decoration is
excluded.
f. Unless otherwise stated all fitments i.e. Face plates, accessories and down lights will be supplied in white.
g. Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, best endeavours will be made to avoid damage and to refit to an
acceptable standard. However employing a specialist fitter may be required to effect a fully satisfactory
reinstatement. The cost of this has not been allowed for
h. Belgrave Electrical Services Limited will endeavour to undertake installation work to a clean standard; however
some additional vacuuming and cleaning down of surfaces should be expected afterwards. Any equipment
susceptible to damage from dust (e.g. TV or computer equipment) should be removed from the work area prior
to our arrival.

2. New Consumer Units:
a. Installation of new consumer units are subject to the whole installation being tested to ensure it is safe to be
connected to the new consumer unit.
b. Any faults found during the above testing which are deemed unsafe, must be rectified prior to the circuit being
reconnected to the consumer unit. Costs for these additional works are not included. Such issues will be brought
to the clients’ attention as soon as is practical during the works.
c. It may be necessary to install new main equipotential bonding conductors to the gas, water or oil supplies. This
is especially common on properties built during or prior to the early 1970’s and will be subject to an additional
cost unless otherwise agreed beforehand.

3. Exclusions:
a. Whilst Belgrave Electrical Services Limited will generally do some limited moving of items to create access, the
clearing and / or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are the responsibility of the
customer and are not included within the quote and delays may incur additional charges.
b. Whilst Belgrave Electrical Services Limited will try and ensure that any electrical items are plugged back in and
working, before we leave the premises, we will not be held responsible for any losses due to any electrical item
not being plugged back in or switched on.
c. Removal from the site and disposal of rubble, materials, general waste and packaging, is not included, we may
at our discretion remove old wiring and electrical fitments for safe disposal.

 

4. Pricing:
a. Costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with the client.
b. Unless otherwise stated, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between 0800 and 1700 hours,
Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required outside of these hours by the client may incur additional costs.
c. Additional works not covered in original quotation costs will attract an additional charge of our normal rate of
£40.00 per hour, plus materials where applicable.
d. Parking permits are to be provided where required, otherwise any parking costs will be added to the final
invoice.
e. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the given date.

5. Risk and Title of Goods:
a. The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the client upon delivery.
b. All goods supplied shall remain the property of Belgrave Electrical Services Limited until all sums due have been
paid in full.

6. Guarantee:
a. Belgrave Electrical Services Limited guarantees all work for a period of 12 months from completion, provided
that work has not been altered in any way (including third party repairs)
b. Materials and components are subject to manufacturer’s warranty.
c. All installation work is backed by ELECSA’s Platinum 6 year warranty scheme.

7. Payment:
a. Belgrave Electrical Services Limited will require a 30% deposit payed prior to commencement of works.
b. Unless agreed in writing any outstanding balances and payment in full should be made on completion of the
specified works to Belgrave Electrical Services Limited.
c. Where projects involve a first and second fix, part payment may be due on completion of first fix.
d. Payment is accepted by cash, credit card or bank transfer. Account details: Sort Code: 40 38 20 Account No: 71401750

e. In the event of any non-payment, Belgrave Electrical Services Limited reserve the right to withhold any certificates for works carried out until such payments are made.
f. In the event of late payment Belgrave Electrical Services Limited reserve the right to charge interest on overdue
amounts at an interest of 5% above the prevailing base rate calculated on a daily basis
